Welcome to the APLN DC Chapter Wiki

Welcome to the Washington DC Chapter of the Agile Project Leadership Network (APLN).  Similar to the national APLN, our mission is to develop and grow great project leaders within the DC Metropolitan area through the sharing of Lean and Agile experiences and expertise.   During our chapter meetings and special events we bring together individuals to discuss, develop and promote techniques for the effective management of Agile Projects and Agile Organizations.

Membership is free and we encourage you and your collegues to attend an upcoming Chapter meeting to network with your professional business collegues and learn more about relevant Lean and Agile topics, approaches, and techniques.  The APLN DC Chapter meets regularly, usually on the 1st Thursday of every month--please see the calendar of events for the latest meeting details.

How to Sponsor an Upcoming Chapter Event

APLN DC Chapter sponsorships are available and provide a unique opportunity to promote your company and its services and offerings with peers and potential customers.  We are offering primary positioning to a select group of companies at our monthly meetings, on our website, and at special events.  Your sponsorship dollars will put your company's name in front of the brightest and best of the Agile community and those interested in exploring Agile methods. PMI and APLN DC Chapter Partnership

The APLN DC Chapter is a Strategic Partner with the Project Management Institute (PMI) sharing a common vision to promote project management practices and approaches, conducting research, and sharing access to a wealth of information and resources, specifically around lean and agile techniques and frameworks.  Check out our Memo of Understanding for more details.

PMI Agile Forum

APLN DC Chapter members are excited and contributing to the formation of a new Agile Forum within the PMI, essentially a community of practice, which educates project and program managers on agile principles and how to effectively lead agile projects.

The PMI Agile Forum will serve as a connecting body between Agile and PMI groups, facilitating the information sharing process at global, national, and local levels between already existing PMI components, communities and chapters.  An online portal is currently being developed to provide information on both PMI and Agile practices, principles, and values to members of both communities in the form of articles, presentations, webinars, podcasts, speaking engagements, news, and event notifications.  For more information on the latest developments and how to get involved, please visit the PMI Agile Forum wiki

DC SPIN (Software Process Improvement Network)

APLN is excited to partner with like-minded individuals within the Washington DC Area Software Process Improvement Network (DC SPIN).  DC SPIN is a leadership forum for the free and open exchange of software process improvement experiences and practical ideas.  Similar to the APLN, DC SPIN mission is to promote the achievement of higher levels of process maturity, software quality, and mutual respect.   Please visit the DC_SPIN_website for more upcoming activities.
